Zone Horror Grindhouse season for January 2007
29th Nov 06
This press release from Zone Horror dropped on out doormat the other day, and it really caught our attention. Check this out...
Zone Horror salutes the legendary exploitation films of the 1970s with Grindhouse 2000, a season showcasing the genre's modern day successors.
Typically low budget, excessively violent and sensationally sleazy, the original films were the favoured fare of low-rent cinemas, known as grindhouses.
Grindhouse has influenced a new generation of film makers, most notably Quentin Tarantino who releases his hotly anticipated collaboration with Robert Rodriquez, Grindhouse 2007, in April.
Strange Things Happen At Sundown - Jan 3rd - 00:40
Big fangs meet big guns in this vampire/gangster bonanza. Strangeness abounds as a female vampire is bumping off fellow bloodsuckers, while another vampire searches for God (eh?)
Hell Hath No Fury - Jan 10th - 00:40
In this anthology, scorned women vent their anger through a series of bloody torture, madness, murder and revenge stories, complete with terror and gore by the bucketful!
At Dawn They Sleep - Jan 17th - 00:40
Two drug dealers think they have hit the big time when they spend the night with real live angels, who promptly turn the men into vampires and charge them with killing the entire human race.
Dead End Road - Jan 24th - 00:40
A serial killer is torturing and murdering his victims under the influence of Edgar Allan Poe's stories. A determine young FBI agent is trying to catch him, before her own premature burial.
Death Factory- Jan 31th - 00:40
While looking for a place to party, a group of friends stumble across an abandoned chemical factory where a crazed, half-human creature enjoys nothing more than ripping people to shreds.
So, what better to do in the traditionally quiet month of January than watch all this stuff? And keep up to date with what's moving and shaking in the world of cult cinema by checking eatmybrains.com on a regular basis...
